(must sign up for both dates)
Hosted at Nimbus Massage – 1719 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220
This class will explore massage treatments for common injuries of the upper body using an approach that integrates a variety of techniques including lymphatic drainage, neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue, and myofascial release. We will discuss the idea of pain as a symptom of the injury rather than working under the assumption that it is always the injury itself. After discussing all possible avenues of symptomatic presentation including pain, posture, gait, mental state, emotional state, and any memory of the injuring incident, we will follow the related patterns in the soft tissue to release blockages and provide relief. Lastly we will discuss what stretches or routines might be relevant to send home with clients after treatment.
